Cosmetic & Aesthetic Medicine Doctors in the UAE
Aesthetic medicine covers non-surgical treatments that improve appearance: botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, thread lifts, skin boosters, chemical peels, laser and energy-based devices, and body contouring. Practitioners come from a range of backgrounds — dermatology, plastic surgery, general practice and dentistry among them — working under an aesthetic scope of licence granted by their emirate's health authority.
Choosing a practitioner
This is the field where scope of practice varies most, so ask what the practitioner's base specialty is and what their licence permits. For injectables, ask which product is being used and confirm it is registered for use in the UAE. Ask what happens if there is a complication — specifically, whether hyaluronidase is kept on site for filler emergencies such as vascular occlusion, and who manages that. A practitioner who declines a treatment as unsuitable for you is demonstrating judgement, not losing a sale.
