Patients ask about price early. Clinicians hesitate to publish one, because the honest answer depends on the case. Both positions are reasonable — and there is a workable middle.

What is safe to publish

  • The consultation fee. This is usually fixed, and it is the question most people are actually asking when they ask about cost.
  • A range for common procedures, together with what moves it up or down — complexity, number of sessions, materials.
  • What is included. Follow-up visits, imaging, materials, revision. Two clinics quoting the same number often differ entirely in what that number covers.
  • Insurance networks. Which ones you are in. This decides the booking more often than price does, and it is the detail most often missing.

What to leave off

Exact quotes for anything requiring assessment, and any comparison to another practitioner’s pricing. In the UAE, advertising for medical services is regulated: superlatives, guaranteed outcomes and before-and-after claims are the usual reasons a clinic hears from its regulator. The Dubai Health Authority has published explicit guidance on advertising language, and it is worth reading before writing any page that mentions results.

How to phrase “it depends” well

Vagueness reads as evasion; specificity about the variables reads as expertise. Compare:

  • “Price on consultation.” — tells the patient nothing.
  • “Typically AED X–Y depending on the number of implants and whether a bone graft is needed. Includes the temporary, the final crown and two follow-ups.” — tells them what to ask about.

Being clear that a price depends on assessment, and naming what it depends on, consistently reads as more trustworthy than a single number with an asterisk.

Keep it current

An out-of-date price is worse than no price, because the patient arrives expecting it. If you publish figures, diarise a review every six months, and remove anything you are no longer confident quoting.
